Overview
The YWCA Canberra Clubhouse is an innovative out-of-school learning hub that provides over 400 young people, aged 10-18, from the Tuggeranong region with access to the latest technology, mentoring, and skill development in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and music (STEAM). The Clubhouse aims to foster better socio-economic outcomes for the Tuggeranong community and enhance STEAM employment opportunities, particularly for women and young people from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally diverse backgrounds. The program’s success relies heavily on the essential support from cross-sector partners, volunteers, the Tuggeranong community, and dedicated staff. Since 2020, The Snow Foundation has proudly supported the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse, committing to help facilitate the Clubhouse’s core services, enabling young people to delve into coding, 3D printing, photography, videography, visual arts, music, virtual reality, and more. The Clubhouse's commitment to nurturing creativity and independent learning extends to offering a free school holiday program during each school holiday period. As we look ahead, The Snow Foundation is thrilled to continue this partnership, eagerly anticipating the positive socio-economic transformations that the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse will bring about in our community.
