Wilya Janta

Wilya Janta is an Aboriginal-led organisation developing a community-led solution to the complex remote housing challenge in the Northern Territory. Wilya Janta’s pilot project delivers culturally safe, thermally efficient, off-grid homes that honour culture, support wellbeing and strengthen local leadership. The first modular home, co-designed by Warumungu people, includes mud bricks made from termite mounds, demonstrating local ingenuity and climate responsive design.
