Hotel Etico

Hotel Etico is an inclusive employment initiative that supports young adults with disability to build skills and independence through real-world hospitality experience. Operating as an employment academy within a functioning hotel, it provides paid work, structured training and life skills development in a supportive environment. With mentoring and job coaching, participants develop confidence and practical capabilities that prepare them for long-term employment. The model, which originated in the Blue Mountains, has been expanded to Canberra, demonstrating its success and scalability. By combining training with meaningful work, Hotel Etico creates pathways to inclusion, economic participation and greater independence for people with disability, while also showing how businesses can deliver both social impact and quality service in a commercial setting.
