Who We Fund

The Snow Foundation was set up to assist those in need in the Canberra community whose needs are not covered by government sources.

A wide variety of applications have been approved for funding since the establishment of the Foundation, with the main emphasis on providing specifically targeted grants in the fields of:

  • social welfare
  • health and disabilities
  • education & recreation

We do not give ‘blanket’ donations but help with the funding of a specific program/treatment/equipment. Some of those we have been able to assist are:

  • The Open Family - helping youth on the street
  • St John’s Care - providing breakfast to children at Ainslie Primary School
  • Stacia’s Soup Kitchen – providing food to people who are homeless
  • Barnardos – supporting the Kids in Sport Program
  • Belconnen Community Service – providing children’s school shoes, backpacks
  • Lions Youth Haven - assisting with education & employment skills
  • L’Arche Genesaret - helping care for adults with severe mental handicap
  • Marymead – catalyst funding for the 'Home Program’ where councillors visit families at home
  • Noah’s Ark - educational supplies for people with handicaps
  • ACT Cancer Society - funding for their wig service
  • The Smith Family – scholarships for school-leavers
  • Individuals with disabilities – medical supplies eg. wheelchair
  • Brindabella Gardens Nursing Home – providing a palliative care unit.
